it's already backwards from the mirror's perspective, the mirror is showing the reverse of what is shown on the mirror side of the plastic.

this is not rocket science. it's reflecting the back of the label though the clear plastic layer onto the core of the mug.

Reflection of a reflection. The light goes through the label and reflects it mirror-backwards. Then it gets re-reflected again.
