Are all Kryptonians sick when they're on their home planet?

I think it's pretty neat that Terence Stamp does the voice of Jor-El in Smallville, but played General Zod in Superman 2.

Kryptoninte is basically a radioactive substance from krypton that got released when the planet exploded. It's not really a natural rock occurance on krypton if i recall, but it basically followed clark through his wormhole to earth (hence the smallville meteor shower).
