I don't think you'd want the "conventional" one. They are huge, heavy, big, bulky, and just plain ugly as compared to the newer lcd, plasma, projection, etc. Not to mention, i think the older "conventional" ones use more electricity.

Tubes that big are absolute pains. You can find a really REALLY good DLP that would work better than a tube in that size.

Though, Samsung makes really competent tubes that handle everything but PS2 progressive output very well for dirt cheap.
