I'd say no kiss would be better than a peck on the check. save the big smooch for date #2. besides a first date isn't really even a date, its an audition to see if your are datable material. the second date is the true first date, then you should expect to get a kiss. if there is no smooch, then its all done and move on.

I agree, but at the same time if you are intrested you'd think after your first true date(date #2) a kiss would be in order. I'm not saying that you should sleep with the guy, but what's wrong with a good night kiss before he leaves for the night? the guy walks away happy, and if he's a good enough kisser you'll walk away happy. then take your time getting to the next step. if he's the right one he'll respect you and go at your speed. if he's going to fast for you and doesn't want to wait, ditch him and move onto a guy that is your speed. It sounds like there was no spark so maybe you should move on.
