I shave 2x / week. usually monday / thursday. by the day before i shave, i have a pretty scruffy beard / mustache. Sometimes i sport a goatee, but i get sick of it after a week or so and shave.

well i have had it for a little over 3 years so practice.... but i use a hand mirror and hold it to the side of my face, look in the big mirror and take my time... its not so hard once you get used to it.
when i first started, shaving was 1/2 an hour + sometimes 45 minutes and no promises that it would be right.... now im in and out in about 10 minutes...
the key is to shave my cheeks/neck with cream like normal but then rinse and detail in along the line with no cream so i can see what im doing...
