i dont know but my friend S4 from that gen rocked my ass..... and the '03 A4 1.8t i had for all of 3 days was awesome too...

My roommate has a 97. Hers has been running like poo lately though. Just doesnt seem like it was made to last. But then hers is the only one Ive ever driven.

I'd consider going with the newer update, which happend in 98.5 I believe.

2.8 went from 2 valves to 5 valves. I'm not sure if the exterior/interior changes came then, or in 1999.

the passenger side mirror was widened, pre 98.5 it was narrower than teh drivers side mirror.... you wont notice til somebody tells you and then you notice how stupid it looks.
