Celebrity anti-war protester, fresh off inking a lucrative deal with Speaker's Bureau, has demanded at the HUFFINGTON POST and MICHAEL MOORE'S website that the United States military must immediately leave 'occupied' New Orleans.

"I don't care if a human being is black, brown, white, yellow or pink. I donŐt care if a human being is Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhist, or pagan. I don't care what flag a person salutes: if a human being is hungry, then it is up to another human being to feed him/her. George Bush needs to stop talking, admit the mistakes of his all around failed administration, pull our troops out of occupied New Orleans and Iraq, and excuse his self from power. The only way America will become more secure is if we have a new administration that cares about Americans even if they donŐt fall into the top two percent of the wealthiest."

Sheehan is in the middle of a bus trip across America in support of her cause.

Developing...
So, now she's not only an authority on the war in Iraq, but now an authority on the disaster of New Orleans? I wonder, if there weren't "troops" in New Orleans, who would stop the criminal activity that skyrocketed after the flood? NOPD sure couldn't. With a handfull of suicides and numerous more resignations, it took bringing in the military, who had the manpower, to assist in bringing things under control.

This lady really disappoints me. :nono:

What news source are you citing? I'm just asking because, at the comment in that article, it cited a statement at Michael Moore's website, and after searching for the past couple minutes, I cannot find the statement the article was talking about.

One thing that truly troubled me about my visit to Louisiana was the level of the military presence there. I imagined before that if the military had to be used in a CONUS (Continental US) operations that they would be there to help the citizens: Clothe them, feed them, shelter them, and protect them. But what I saw was a city that is occupied. I saw soldiers walking around in patrols of 7 with their weapons slung on their backs. I wanted to ask one of them what it would take for one of them to shoot me. Sand bags were removed from private property to make machine gun nests.

The vast majority of people who were looting in New Orleans were doing so to feed their families or to get resources to get their families out of there. If I had a store with an inventory of insured belongings, and a tragedy happened, I would fling my doors open and tell everyone to take what they need: it is only stuff. When our fellow citizens are told to "shoot to kill" other fellow citizens because they want to stay alive, that is military and governmental fascism gone out of control. What I saw today in Algiers lifted up my spirits, but what I also saw today in Algiers frightened me terribly.
how can anyone listen to this idiot? oh well, she's definitely a perfect match for michael moore.

The two articles there are from Drudge Report (He's the factual equivilant of a dartboard) and a Conservative blog who focuses on discrediting the San Francisco Chronicle. Unable to find similar assertations on both Fox News (Right of center) and MSNBC (floats around center), I did some searching, and found her comment:

Within context... Her assertation of New Orleans looks more the a metaphor than a statement of fact. While she does make some broad sweeping assertations that I do not agree with, I don't think she's as "crazy" as some certain people are trying to make her out to be... Fanatical, yes, but I think "crazy", "idiot", and other such statements are misnomers...

Yes, they are misnomers. The proper term for Cindy Sheehan is "full of herself." Count the number of times she uses "I" and "me" in her screed. She thinks that just because she's been to NO, she's a f**king expert in disaster recovery. Also, it's painfully obvious she's never owned a business. "If I had a business, I'd open the doors and let everyone take everything"???? GMAFB.

The next thing I expect to hear from her oversized mouth is "it's all about me."
