anyone in los angeles affected by the power outage?
i was about to cook my lunch when the power went out 
LOS ANGELES -- Power officials are reporting more outages Monday afternoon from the San Fernando Valley to downtown Los Angeles.

The Department of Water and Power said the outage was linked to the accidental cutting of a cable.
A major portion of the San Fernando Valley reported outages, but power was being restored in some areas at just before 2 p.m.
Outages in the Valley occurred from Studio City west to Woodland Hills.
Several schools were without power. Students were being kept in classrooms.
Sporadic outages occurred in downtown Los Angeles and the Koreatown area. Traffic lights were out throughout the area.
Emergency services were operating, according to authorities.

my boss let us leave a few minutes before power came back
we started packing up and the supervisors left first
then the power came back and our boss stopped us from leaving
