Andre just fought off 4 break points for Federer at 5-5 in the 3rd, now Federer's serving 5-6. If Andre can break here he'll go up 2 sets to 1.

today was a good lazy tv day for me
f1 qualifying, porsche club racing
f1 race, kimi's the man! mclaren has bad luck w/montoya going out though
irl, dana had pole but my man wheldon won it and pretty much clinched the championship
now great match w/agassi...he go crushed in that tiebreaker though, federer is not playing well, but then he's hanging tough and agassi is making more errors

Well this one's just about over. Federer's up 5-0 in the fourth after killing Andre in that tiebreak at the end of the 3rd. Agassi might hold serve for one game and then Federer should probably close things out.

I'm sick of Federer. I don't care how good he is, I pretty much always root against him.

That was a great game. The last few sets were incredible. I'm sad that Federer won..Why does he have to be so young and good?!?!

thats cuz hes american, it was 9/11, its the us open and they like to root for the underdog, it is probably his last run to a grand slam final, someone wants to see federer lose in a final, and hes a great interviewer and ambassador to the game

im guessing you didn't like pete sampras then huh? cuz they have the same style. quiet, silent guys who are upstanding guys and work their asses off but not as outgoing as other players

i like federer cuz he has great shotmaking abilities...i too get tired of him winning like sampras due to them being very mudane sometimes but then they also show that hard work and drive help make a winner. i cant believe federer is like almost 80-3 this year and has not lost in any final he's been in.
sad to see agassi lose, cuz hes been my favorite for the longest time, but its amazing he made it here in the first place. its been a great run, i dont think he has it in him for any more. after the match i went out and hit with my roommates

that was a great game! intertaining and thought that Agassu would actually win at one point! but lets face it he's getting old and tired now. Plus he played 3 6 set games he must of been tired!

Nah I liked Sampras. Sampras was quiet but his game was just so good at things where he still seemed human. He was a classic serve-n-volleyer but like, with the amp cranked up to 11. Plus his personality was always humble even though he knew he could kick everyone's ass at any time.

MacEnroe dominated back in 1984 like Federer has done this year, but he was just such a dick that you gotta love him.

Federer is just plain boring. He makes those shots he shouldn't be able to make, he puts people away at points in the match where you just don't know where he pulled that momentum from, he wins his matches, and he says what he's supposed to say when to the press.

But I get the feeling that while he's obviously the best player there is right now, he just doesn't have the competition to deal with like back in the day. In the late 70s early 80s you had Connors, Borg, MacEnroe, Lendl, all at the absolute top of their game.

Going into the 80s and 90s you had Lendl still around (he went to 8 straight US Open finals), Connors popped up every once in a while, Becker, Edberg, Wielander, Courier, Rafter, Chang, Sampras, Agassi. You knew any of those guys at any time could pull off a grand slam.

Now today's top players are obviously really good, but I don't get the feelin that Nadal, Roddick, Safin, Hewitt and Coria are just as good as the top group of players in those previous eras. So Federer dominating this current scene doesn't seem as impressive as Sampras or any of those other guys.

I dunno, I just can't get myself to like Federer.
