I went to Grapplers Quest yesterday in NJ. It was my second tournament. The last tournament was a little over a year ago. I took almost all of last year off from grappling because of school and had only been back to two grappling classes before going to the tournament. I also wasn't in the best shape because I hadn't been keeping up on my cardio so I didn't really expect much from myself. Anyway I ended up beating my first opponent in a couple of minutes by rear naked choke and I was up on points 8-0 at that point anyway. But my cardio came into play in my second match and I was just worn out and lost 4-2. Overall I think I did pretty well given the circumstances. My coach (who wasn't even sure if I should participate in this tournament) was proud. I'll try to get the video of my fist match up here sometime.

My coach always trasfers the videos to DVD's and gives them to us. I should have it in a couple of weeks. I can't wait to see the video.

 

congrats man.... i love grappling, we teach it at my martial arts school... however, its not as far in depth as your classes.

I've been trying to teach my students more grappling because not every situation can you kick or punch.

Actually one of my students doubted anyone can put her in a choke hold. Saying that not even I could get in close. Well I had her sleeping in about 30 seconds

 

I took a few lessons at Henry Matamoros' BJJ but I had to quit because it didn't fit into my schedule. I wish I could go back tho. Especially after watching TUF, those guys are pussy

I can post the vid of my first match (it was over a year ago). Does anyone know some good software to rip a video off of a DVD? Also where can I post the file?
