if your company does a flat x% off retail discount, sure. but best buy's is 5% over cost.. so we get fucked on stuff like ipods, ps2/xbox/gamecube, other high competition items. we get accessories and shit stupid cheap though.

Hmm, I didn't take that into consideration... we don't have a mark-up as well, since Apple mandates that price... duh. I have a 5% over cost discount myself as well, which is cool for the books and peripherals and odds n' ends, but is rather pointless towards laptops/printers/desktops/anything good.

I dont know where you got that, but stand by time is like 2 weeks, and talk time is like 6-7 hours.
