I'd get some Dunlop SP5000s then. My wife had them on her Protege5 and I was impressed on the overall dry and snow grip. Took her car out on Christmas back in 2002 when it snow like nuts. Going down the PA Turnpike we passed SUVs and other AWD cars stuck on the side of the road

any suggestions on where to get them?

I dont' see them on tirerack.com or discounttiredirect.com

ehh...i've had 512's before and wouldnt recommend them. what else is available in your size and price range?

Had the Sxrixion4's before and they were very much a "budget" tire. I would not care for them again... however they are quite cheap.

~$50

cause it's then going to cost another $10-15 per tire to get them mounted and balanced and I need an alingment too.

All you guys are mentioning cheap tires. Remember you don't want CHEAP'O tires when you are trying to slow down in the snow. What's worth more? Spending an extra $10 on some quality tires or $5000 on front end body work?
