That's it, I'm going to start tutoring. h:

In case of plural possessives that end in "s", simply stick the apostrophe on the end. Otherwise, follow the conventional rule.

Example: The Smiths' camper was hit by a meteorite this evening.

"I bought a chefs' knife."

's = possession
s' = group/general possession

What you cannot do is just attach the 's to a noun, because doing so indicates possession. We've been through this already.
