Hi All,

I live in Dallas/FortWorth area and I have zero knowledge about car repair and maintainence. Just because of curiousity of how things work and learning to do basic repairs, I am interested in some kind of mechanic training. What I had in mind is to spend couple of hours every weekend in a local repair shop, help them in their work and at the same time learning to do stuff. I do not wish for any compensation for this. Has any one of you done this before? Is this a good idea? Can you suggest something better? If somebody is familiar to DFW area, he/she can suggest a good repair shop to me, that would be really helpful in getting good training.
