Like I said, let every stupid cat and dog die if there are people in need of that aid. Animals are expendable just like property, basic aid comes first and that's what people need, help getting shelter and food and water and help getting back on their feet. Who the hell cares about animals? How are these devasted people supposed to take care of themselves? You donated aid to animals before you donated it to the Red Cross and other organizations of the sort? Shit I need gas money more than some dog needs a bone, send me the money if you're gonna do that.

I have donated blood, and cloths to the red cross. Also on all the donations sites they have millions raised for the people and less then $50,000 for the animals.

Congress approved something like $10.5 billion in aid so maybe you folks bitching about the government should pick up a newspaper or read an online headline or something every once in a while.

In fact, I happened to be driving from Madison, WI to Normal, IL today and passed a huuuuge military convoy that was like, 3 miles long. Something based in Wisconsin, either Army or National Guard, judging from the drab green paint and license numbers marked in chalk on the back of the vehicles starting with WI. They were headed south with all kindsa supplies. Big huge transport trucks filled up with bottled water that could be unloaded and then used to carry people, tanker trucks marked "potable" (i.e. drinking water), humvees, dump trucks carrying who knows what. They were obviously headed in the direction of New Orleans.
