I have a turtle and not too much you can do...

I use real rocks instead, and I dont have too much on there.. I have this ONE spot which is kind of hidden but it gets direct sunlight I think, and there is algae all on the glass

Put some chlorine in the tank

 

Make turtle soup then your problems will be gone.
