Just Built My First Computer
It was a lot easier than I thought. I had a little problem with the ram timing but that was an easy fix once I figured out that that was the problem.
Anyone else here ever build a computer before? Ever had any major problems?

every computer i've built myself (minus laptop).
no major problems. everything skippity dippity, i just avoided the old ecs mobos (for durons and such) like the black plague. ecs nforce boards are pretty nice now though.
yay for nerds!

My dad and I did. We just had a problem with the board saying the cpu was too hot after like 5 minutes of running. It wasn't, we had a huge heat sinc and fan on it. I can't remember why it said it was too hot now.. And we had trouble getting the monitor to work on it.

I've built everyone of my home PCs myself. Infact, I'm in the process of building one more and want to make it a studio PC. It's nice though. Should be able to put them together on this weekend if I have time.
Board: Asus P5WD2 Premium
Proc: P4 540 LGA755 3.2GHZ HT, 1MB - Sux, but should be able to hold out for now 'til Pentium D is cheaper
RAM: 4 x 512 OCZ DDR2-533
PSU: CoolerMaster TruePower 450-ALCY (waiting for the OCZ Powerstreams to go on sale )
GPU: X850XT 256MB DDR3 PCI-E
Sound: Creative Audiy 2ZS Platinum Pro
Case: Antec P180
HDD: Seagate 200MB SATA, 2 x 160GB SATA
Not the best there is but I think it's a nice setup.
Trouble I've ran to are:
1. Powersupply: The CoolerMaster TruePower 450W being able to supply JUST enough current to the system being the 12V Rails are independent and rated on at 18/16 for the 12V1/V2. It is fine for stock speed AND minor OC. But not for extreme OC.
2. Wiring management: This case is freaking tall and it's very very hard to route the wires correctly. Wiring management can help increase airflow for better cooling.
3. System Cooling: I plan to go for regular air-cooled since what this case is for, so A LOT of 120mm fans were added. 6 total.
4. Video Cooling: I have to take apart the HS on my X850XT to lap it, and use with some Artic Silver 5. I also have a set of Coolermaster Silent Piping cooling aftermarket kit whch I'll do the comparison between it and stock with AS5 to see which one is better. I heard that the stock HS can provide adequate amount of cooling as well.
5. External Soundcard Box: Which I need to fine a place to mount it to since it's kinda big.
6. Cases front being a little bit flimsy, but I like it.
Overall, I really like this new setup
