Anyone Have Webcam Info ?
I was interested in buying a Webcam. Anyone know much about them. From the little I have seen so far. They alla re 640x480 Video resolution with either 15 Fps or 30 Fps. And Different still image sizes, and many have built in microphones. Anyone know any good cams from experience? Or any tips for me to look out for?
30fps (technically 29.97) is movie frame rate so it will give a fluid feel to the recorded image (hand doesn't go from the tip to the base in a single frame causing confusion).
15fps is half frame speed and gets choppy but if you are doing webcast or teleconference it is better on bandwidth and communicates fairly smooth for a webcam...30 is better but eats up bandwidth.
In cam mics suck get an external one.
640x480 is pretty standard fare, any bigger and it has problems transmitting because of image resolution hogging bandwidth.
Still frame shots...get a point and shoot....even the cheapest digicam is better than 90% of webcams.

well i dont need it for the till camera option, i already have a canon sd300 digi cam. i know im prob gonna get a 30 fps bc ive seen the difference while using my camera to tell that 30 fps is a lot better. about the bandwich take up... im currently running a T1 at my house and its has like a 2mb upload... so i dont think id have a problem ? or would i? i dont know to much about bandwich. i also dont really need anyhting "top of the line" just something that'd give me the ability to give out a clear picture thats not choppy. also how much should i be expecting to spend on somehting decent? not top of the line?

The only problem with bandwidth is to get the max speed out of it you have to have both sender and reciever on similiar speed lines with similiar built computers. Otherwise one will be able to either send or recieve faster than the other can take or send the info.
