So, for those of you who know me, and for even more who really don't give a shit - I sold off my civic today :( I had a blast with that car. Its gone to a good home though. No shopping cart wing for it in the future with its new owner so thats good.

To make a short story... long - Back in December a jeep backed up onto my hood and took off. Needed a new hood/repaint. Then about a month ago my A/C went out. It needs a new compressor, about $685 to fix incl. labor. It also had 133k on the stock clutch and while not slipping yet it is bound to happen soon. So rather than put more money into the car than its worth, I decided to sell it and buy a new car since I was planning on selling the car about this time next year anyway.

Sold the car for $2200 to a friend of one of my buddy's. Thats more than bluebook value, however in the tuner scene a relatively clean 95 EX coupe is hard to find for a good price. Considering all the work I had done to the suspension the guy I sold it to got a good deal. Considering the blue book value($1500 in its condition) and endmunds.com(2000-2500) value, I got a good deal.

I bought a brand new 2005 Altima SE, that means V6, 250 hp, and decent handling. Nothing like the old civic but its still pretty good.

My car doth tireth. I will probably be looking at something else in the enxt couple of months.

So you're gonna get rid of the green monster, eh? What are you looking at?

I wanted to 'grow up' per se and get some either midside or fullsize. I took a look at the Accord V6 coupe, the Altima, RSX, TSX, TL, and a few others. My buddy was working at the Nissan dealership so I figured I could get a good car, with a full warrenty, no previous history or high miles to worry about, etc. The TSX or TL would have to be used to be in my price range. The Altima was too good of a price to pass up for what it offered.

I test drove the 2.5 before I drove the 3.5. Night and day. Two different cars.

the 2.5's with their standard I4 and standard suspension.. .sucked. Well, the power is 175 in the 2.5's so its not horrible but there is nothing registering on the butt dyno. The handling though was horrible. I took a turn and it just dove into it and kept sliding. Remember, if you're doing to test drive a car, don't act like you're driving miss dasey. I drove the hell out of the cars I test drove.

the 3.5 has lots of power and torque compared to the civic :). Torque steer is an issue, but I'll get used to it :p

Downside is that its auto, however it does have tiptonic shifting which is cool I can make use of the whole powerband like a real manual. Nissans are damn hard to find in manual. Oh well, this will be my fiancee's car soon enough and I'll get a 350Z or a corvette or something.

When test driving cars, I drove a focus SVT blah blah blah. I got into it thinking yea right, whatever. But I was actually very very impresed. It handled VERY well, had good acceleration, and outstanding braking. Interior was nice too. Looked like an Audi S4 interior with blue center suede seating and whatnot. If I was in the market for a sport compact, it would have won out. After that I drove the RSX -- totally unimpressed. Brakes were horrible, acceleration was 'meh' and the interior was meh. Only the seats were nice.

:chuckles: no, that actually went on ebay a few weeks ago. My sister was selling stuff around my parents basement. I think the buyer fell through on it though when he realized it would cost about 100+ to ship.... Even though it was stated in the auction that it would cost 100+ to ship.

3.5's are fast :oh:
