Stupid freakin viper alarm
OK, I have the viper vx791. I replaced the battery on the remote because it ran out. Not too complex. After I put the new battery in, although the alarm can arm and disarm, no status updates show up on the pager. DEI's tech support is useless, and that Audio/security forum gets a tiny amount of traffic. Any ideas on how to fix it?
PS I already tried removing the remote from the memory and reinstalling it. Didn't improve the situation.

I had the same issue with mine. I pulled the power to the alarm .
DEI sent me new remotes, didn't work.

you need to set it to check your car every 30 seconds probably. if you hold all four buttons at once, it will beep one long beep. then press star button until it beeps once at you. then let it sit and it will beep 2-3 long beeps. it should be set to check your car now.

Nope. Already tried that. It is paging properly.
I stopped by a viper dealer, and it turns out it is the remote Well, I'll see if I can do a warranty return soon :happysad:
