Odd. That site says they have 14 units in stock, but the disclaimer at the bottom states product won't be in stock until Feb 06.

BBTS is reputable. I like pre-ordering from them because they don't charge you until the item comes in. Some of the other sites require an immediate Pay-Pal payment on pre-orders. I also like the collector's grade option.

I think Mr. Monk has endorsed them on this thread before...

I noticed that too. I was thinking that they probably ordered a certain amount themselves and don't want to sell more pre-orders than they are scheduled to receive. It's really just a $5 difference.

I'm also looking at the Star Wars transformers on BBTS. Seems like a good deal...I saw a preorder for $100 for all four of them, while BBTS has them for $17 each.

http://www.jrstoyworld.com/catalog/index.php

This guy is good too. The only thing that sucks is that I have to pay sales tax when I order from this place because they are located in IL.

BBTS seems to overcharge on most items.

TFSource always has the best shipping rates.

D-T offers the best combo deals.

Supercow under cuts on popular items, but never stocks anything older than a few months.

Strange fact.

It cost me $78.20 more to get 12 eHobby's, than it did to get the entire TFC 00-20 lot. :a:

Does Supercow require pre-payment of pre-orders like TFsource and D-T does? The only thing holding me back from pre-ordering from D-T is that they take your money now, but you don't see anything until Feb.

Ouch....by the way, I love this :a:

Hmm, I gotta figure out my pre-ordering strategy. I want to pre-order the alts, but I don't know if I want to pay $3-$4 more for each one, or risk not finding them in the stores.

The problem is that when you find them in stores, the packaging is beat or you have to settle for some flaw. The current alternators were prone to shelf damage from careless stocking and rough handling. The new bubble package looks even less sturdy.

As fun as it is to drive around hunting for these, it gets tiring. I figure why waste my time? Just get her done in one shot in collector's grade. No worries.

Even though I will pay a bit more pre-ordering, I figure I will end up even once I factor in time and fuel saved by not having to drive all over hunting them down.

I really hope I don't see any of the new Alternators or the Star Wars TF's on the shelves anytime soon.
