Are cats FPD, RPD or APD?
I have this one cat that likes to race me to her food bowl and she often loses traction on the hardwood floors and spins out. This led me to the question:
Are cats Front Paw Drive, Rear Paw Drive or All Paw Drive?
Discuss. :dunno: :run:

well considering that when walking, they have a max of 3 paws down and when running only 2 down at a time.... it would be C, none of the above.
However, 4 legged animals use all 4 for travel. So you could, say they have an APD system. But they don't use them all at the same time, so it's NOT an APD system.
It's like having 4wd engaged but only having power to 2 or 3 wheels at a time.

At the same time, all 4 tires are in contact with the road (unless you are having too much fun :reechy: ) and also therefore provide constant traction, unlike an animal.

bringing this one back.... all paw drive with open diff's
think about it this way. when they take off, the bound for the first step - 4 paw launching. sometimes i do it to my dog (chihuahua) i hold him just barely higher than the ground when he sees something he wants to get to fast and when i set him down, all four paws lock down and propell him....
