Insurance Agents are Idiots- Help
-Cliffs at end
I need some creative ideas to get out of this stupid situation insurance has placed me in.
I’m trying to get a new automotive rate, but being below 25 they are attempting to shaft me. Here is the problem:
Back in December, I was legally parked downtown when some schmuck decided to reverse into my front bumper and drive away. Fortunately witnesses wrote down his/her license plate. The damage was minimal, but I wanted justice and reported the incident to the police.
Now, the new insurance company is saying they are not sure about the status of the claim and refuse to clearly declare it as a ‘not-at-fault’ accident which means it counts as a liability of sorts and doubles my premium! The new insurance company wants something that says ‘not-at-fault’ when it is impossible to change an old description.
The underwriter is an idiot. The date of my experience/incident letter was 8/9/05, yet the guy had the brains to tell me: "oh you insurance has expired on 8/9/05" wtf-- learn to read.
Obviously I’m about to give them hell.
I have a copy of the police report, previous insurance company’s experience letter stating: “hit-and-run” as a description of the incident. Surprisingly, I have a clean record so in theory if the aforementioned accident was my fault, wouldn’t I have points on my record because I reported it to the police?
HELP!
Cliffs: Can't get a decent new rate because insurance is being overly picky. Underwriter = idiot.

I discovered that I could get liabilty coverage on an additional vehicle for only $20 more/month. :rick:
Time to do some shopping.
