Well maybe it will open their eyes and cause them to slow down.
Im all for going fast, but you gotta be more aware of what you are doing when you have other people with you/around you.

Exactly man, I know what you mean. Plus he was a very un-experienced driver being only 17 he had no right what so ever going that fast especially with other teen's in the car.

He was better friends with my little brother but I knew him as well. It is a shame. Speeding for stupid reason's. Before when I had my eclipse i would speed all the time, now that i'm slowly getting older i'm starting to finally mature and realize it's just stupid to speed. He was only 17....It's a shame.

Its a shame this happened but, I feel no sympathy for this. He should of known better than to speed with people in the car. Yet alone speed.

Been through this a few years ago and I said the same thing despite it way my bestfriend that got killed and his sister.

Maybe this will teach and show the next potential speeder what might happen but, people never learn.

i wouldn't exactly say any road is completely safe to speed on. Out in the country there may not be people but a deer can always jump in front of you.

I think about this frequently but i'm not going to say that i don't do a fair amount of speeding on roads. i have toned it down quite a bit. Sad that he had to learn the hard way.

Well just got back from the wake, and it was terrible just as i expected. Found out a little more info. He was doing about 70mph not sure why he was speeding exactly they think to make a curfew but he died instantly, they tried saving him and was pronounced dead an hour later in the hospital. I saw the other kids who were there in the accident they were pretty beat up, worst part is some of them weren't even wearing their seatbelts....if this isnt' a good enough reason to start wearing one i don't know what is.

:bs: they're just making excuses. he was speeding because he wanted to speed. i mean, a witness saw him driving back and forth before he crashed. if he was trying to make curfew, he would have just kept going on home.
"I saw the children racing one way and then they came back again, the same car. And going very, very fast."
anyway, it's unfortunate. everywhere i go nowadays i see kids screwing around. hell, i live right near a gas station and EVERY night, several times a night, i hear these idiots hammering it as they pull away from the gas station. it's only a matter of time before i hear the crunch of a car smashing into something and ejecting its passengers.

sad.
