What should I pick as a field of study? I'm 55 and haven't worked for anyone but myself in the last 13 years. I don't have any idea of what I want to be when I grow up

 

What do you enjoy aside from what you used to do?

 

how much schooing do you want?
3 yrs -> bachelors?
few month -> certification?

 

Well I already have lots of credit hours in stuff like History, Political Science, Philosophy, Psychology, just couldn't make up my mind back in the early to late seventies. One of my hobbies was fucking with everybody's head. Looking for a two to three year program, not sure of what the outlook is in a tech field. What can be gotten from ground zero in a couple of years? I'm too much of a smartass at times, so I have to watch that.

could take some small classes at like a community college or technical school.

We have a VoTech around here that offers Night Classes in pretty much everything they teach durring the day for students.

So for about $400 I could go do 2 times a week for like 6-8 weeks and learn welding (level 1 or 2), carpentry, HVAC, computer maint., cosmetology, nursing, food prep, electrical, etc. Trade skills basically. But they can come in super handy for the future.

 

I was a remodelor doing Kitchen's and Baths for the last 13 years, only quit because of needing a liver transplant. Worked on A/C and refrigeration while I worked for the hotels as chief engineer also did electrical work on voltages up to 480 live.

I have been thinking of the camera angle, and cinematography as well. The other thing is communication arts. Then there's web professional, but I would have to start from scratch, which is okay with me. Whatever I start classes on the 24th.

or get some computer courses done. always useful & i enjoy them too. im doing my degree through AIU's online program. not too shabby.
