I think kia bought the tooling for the old Lotus Elan

I agree on the beater idea. Buy a 90's Corolla and drive it... the odometer will roll over before it breaks down.

 

Ive actually been looking for some beaters. O and i am 21...22 on aug 24. But i get around mostly via public trans. It sux cus my job is 45 mins away from me..but since i take public trans it takes from 2 1/2 to 3 hours to get home.

 

i dont think it is a great idea to get a loan just for a car...

 

what else would you suggest he gets it for?

nothing wrong with getting a loan for a car. you get a better car than one you can pay cash for, you strengthen your credit which you will need at some point, among other things. if you're going to make your payments, there is absolutely nothing wrong with borrowing for "just a car..."

 

I was only going to take out a 4k loan and i would only have to pay back 150 a month for 36 months. I make that much in one day of work so making payments isnt a issue. I just needed technically a front for like James stated a better car. If u can afford something nice get it. If you cant then get a beater...thats ricks philosophy :chuckles:

 

And what exactly do you know about loans and credit?

but yes if you can afford the car and the associated car then go with it. if not just get a cheap beater.
