Anyone have DELL? What's your thoughts on them?
i have a dell inspiron 5150 and i love it. never once had a single problem in a year. only prob is with their printers, they force you to purchase ink from them and its uber expensive.

That discount is pretty much the same as if people use multiple coupons.
I was able to get that same setup- minus the 19" LCD for under $400, figure a 19" LCD from them goest anywhere from $250-300 from them nowadays.

i hear their laptops are nice.. and LCDs
IMO, Dell systems are pieces of crap. The components they use, are crap. 4 out 5 Dell's I'm in contact with crap out within a year. Their only selling point is that they are incredibly cheap. I've built systems for people for over 10 years and I only use quality parts and the systems used to come out well below the 'consumer available' PC's (Gateway, Compaq, etc) With Dell, you can't beat their prices. I got a request to build 3 PC's for a friend, I just threw my hands in the air and ordered Dell's, less hassle on my part to source out the parts, build, purchse licenses...then having to be the 24 hour support. If bought from Dell, there's that 1 year warantee and tech support.

Their LCD's are nice. Their laptops, are 'ok'. I purchased one to replace an aging IBM, which IS far supperior to the Dell. The Dell feels flimsy and the design and build isn't the best. It is good enough for what I need out of it, but if I could do it all over, I'd probably just buy another IBM.

That's why they literally give away their printers, of all the Dell's I've ordered, pretty much each one came with a 'free' printer.

that's also why printers are so cheap nowadays. they make their money on the marked-up ink.
