Default Thunderstorm Saftey

So there is a big thunderstorm out right now and I was wondering what is and isn't safe to do during a thonderstorm. I always head that you shouldn't talk on a corded phone or do anything with running water (wash dishes, shower, I guess even peeing could be dangerous). But I don't know if any of this is true. I mean it makes sense. But with how massive our sewer systems are wouldn't any lighting strike to a water pipe be diffused? Anyone know any facts?

damnit. Better call the ladies and tell them not to come over. I usually tie the other end of the kite to my cac. The ladies love it

1. stay off cell phones
2. stay away from trees
3. stay away from large metal objects (water tower, telephone poles, high tension wires)
4. don't go ballooning
5. don't take a shower

I thought cordless phones are ok.
