Really? I could have sworn my Cobra manual said to put it as far down and center on the windshield as possible. :dunno:

From the Valentine One manual (pdf file):

"Detector performance is enhanced by a high mounting position. Two reasons. For radar, a longer sight line to the horizon always helps. For laser, moving away from the hood and its sun reflections helps a lot."

i always read. you need the radar detector on the windshield, the bottom of it flat (level). and that the higher you place it on the window. the better for picking up radar, and the lower, is better for laser. But inthe middle is just right....

i hate when people have decent looking cars like protege's and keep em durty as hell. i wont say my car is ugly, or B-E-A-utiful, but i still wash it quite often.
