Yeah, it's great for about 10 minutes of fast driving until the electric motors join the batteries as ballast. It works great in short bursts, but not for any extended amount of time, almost like nitrous.
since no high-performance hybrid vehicle currently exists to the public, i'm assuming you're talking about hybrid systems like those found in the prius and insight. i hardly think this is a valid argument, since these systems were not meant for high performance applications at all.
