Default music players/organizers that are nice and not resource whores?

so as most of you know i have a lot of music. ive been using itunes to play/organize/burn my music and the amount of resources it uses is really starting to irritate me.

my friend suggested that i try WMP so im trying that right now.. im currently adding all my music to 'my library'.

i was a hardcore winamp user for many years, but it doesnt organize my stuff for me. :wiggle:

I'm a neat freak with my MP3's. I make sure to file away whatever I download right away so it doesn't build up. :happysad: My file structure looks something like this ...

- Albums
Dance
Hip Hop
R&B
(etc)

- CD Singles
Dance
Hip Hop
R&B
(etc)

- Tracks (one song dl's)
Dance
Hip Hop
R&B
(etc)

I don't like using programs to do my sorting for me. They use ID tags as their criteria and end up putting tracks everywhere. Snoop might be classified as "hip hop", "rap", "gangster rap", or "top 40". It all depends on who created the file ... and I'm not about to go though 20,000+ songs one by one.

Windows Explorer!

I don't let the program itself organize the music, I organize it myself in folders. It's faster and more compatable with all the diffrent players. Plus I can move it all onto a network drive and play it all the same from any pc.

For playing I use Winamp.

i'm an mp3 organizing freak. not so much anymore, but i don't deal directly with the files that much anymore. but i used to organize them all myself in windows explorer. i would organize the files by artist and then album (in chronological order). and i would always make sure the id3 tags were correct. for that, i use a program called ID3-TagIT [link]. by far the best id3 tag editor i've ever used.

i now use itunes (on my mac) for playing and organizing files and i hate the way it does the file names. i've heard that media monkey [link] is good, but haven't really tried it.

I use WMP mainly with auto playlists from the internet. I like using it. I use WMP or iTunes to copy music to my hard drive. I used to use WinAmp but I don't like it much anymore. I stopped using it once I hit 1000 songs.
