Default cruise control

Is there a switch or something that is down under the dash that senses when the clutch pedal is being pushed in? What's it called?

I think the clutch pedal was let go and slammed up and now cruise control won't work.

I'm not sure about acuras but on bmws there is a switch that is activated by the clutch or the brake pedal. bmw calls it clutch sensor switch.

Well that name sure sounds like it make sense. Could that sensor be damaged by someone slipping off the clutch pedal half way up and it slamming into the stopper or whatever it is?

or an internal short. if you take the panel under the dash apart you should be able to see something.
