yoda was taught by qui gon this power, and yoda had more time to learn this power and possibly mastered it [to reappear as a ghost] as did obi wan.

annakin always wanted to know the power and probably studied it while he was under the influence of the dark side of the force.

That makes a lil more sense..now for the geek speculation?

"strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine" -Obi Wan

I think I read somewhere that one can learn to heal others through the force and themselves, to an extent. But to truely become part of the force can only be done through death. Kind of like 'enlightenment'. You are leaving the troubled world behind and becoming one with the force.

See Obi-Wan is not the problem, since its shown in ep3 that he is to learn this power...my question was about anikan since he never learns the power, or well its not obvious in the movies...and why qui-gon does not appear.

To learn it is to die.

Qui-gon, maybe he was getting busy with some female jedi or something. Qui-gon, relativly speaking, was not that 'big'. He had a medium role in EP1 and a mere mention in EP3. He was by no means a big main character. Yoda, Obi Wan and Ani were all in all 6 episodes.

Quiz: Qui-gon does have a very small part in ep2, what is it?
Quiz: Jar jar's role from EP1 to EP2 to EP3 gets less and less each time, but contrary to popular belief he does say something in EP3. What was it?

Note: Darth Sidious (the emperor) doesn't really die. In the expanded universe of star wars it is known that he has learned of a way to exsist outside of a body. He doesn't have the control of the force when in this state but can travel to one of his many clone bodies on another planet to start over again.

I knew right away as soon as I heard the voice that it was Qui gon and that we hadn't heard the last about him. I actually piped up right in the theater "that was Qui gon!!!"
people around me said it wasn't, didn't believe me.
