Rollins Pass 6/25/05 (pics)
Went up for some backcountry yesterday. It was really fun, but I must be pretty damn out of shape... I nearly killed myself hiking up the mountain (40-60 degree grade, about 40lbs of gear on my back, 10600' alt.
h:. The snow wasn't great, but what can you expect at the end of June... we built a rail out of logs, played around for a while, and then bombed down the face. I also sunburned the shite out of myself.
No action pics because I didn't want to risk smashing my camera if I fell (which I did
h: )
Enjoy.

unloading the shitbrick (nearly got it stuck right at that snow in the pic, parked and walked in an extra 2 miles :happysad: )
some little lake
the face (there were a few skiers there yesterday)

didn't live...i was vacationing in Estes Park and drove along the mountain ridges a lot, visited the Continental Divide, and took 10 minutes to walk a path to the peak of this mountain @ 12,000'. seeing the tree line and snow on a mountain in summer is absolutely awe inspiring.
