Best deal of the day:
I was taking the trash out last night, and I saw a laptop lying on top of a recycle in :eek3: So of course I yanked it and took it back to my apt. h:
The case was heavily broken, and no boot, so I couldn't tell what it was beyond being a "Gateway". So I looked up the part number 450SX4 online, and I found out it's a P4M 1.7 Ghz, 400 mhzFSB beast. I'm gonna try some more tonight to get it to boot, but worst case, I'll part it out. Somebody already stripped the ram
I already relocated the MPCI 802.11b card to my girlfriend's thinkpad, so I know some of the components work
The 14" LCD looks quite intact, if anybody wants to make a bid on that
But yeah... Free is a nice price, even if it is junked h:

What I think is that someone dropped it (Broken hinge on the screen, warped case, impact marks), and the power connections between the battery and the mobo fell out of alignment. I'm gonna play with it a bit tonight, and if I can't get it to run, I'll part it out. I'm sure someone here wants to give their car a 14" LCD display for an onboard computer? :rick:
