Yea. Then what happens when it gets lost, stolen, dropped, broken, messed up, etc. Would the return policy still hold?

You'd be surprised what you can return at Costco and Sams. We had a guy return a big-screen TV after 6 years. He was refunded the full amount he paid (which was a lot more for a big-screen then than it is now) and he walked out the door with a new plasma that same day.
