Default Update on the Stolen Civic SI

Well I figured I would let you guy's know what has happened. I will keep it short because this process has been a going on for a hella long time and still isn't over yet.

My car was found about a month after it was stolen. It was in a roll over accident which totalled the car. Thank goodness because I didn't want it back. There were four individuals in the car at the time of the accident but only three were caught and arrested. The driver was the one that fled the scene and was the one who stole the car. Those that were caught, two of them were 14 years old h: and the other one was 20 years old. Unfortunatly only the two 14 year old were charge, until I bitched enought and was able to get the police to look into the driver. From the reports and testimony's from those that were caught the police have been able to get a warrant and are currently looking for him. :yay: So hopefully he will be behind bars for a long time. Here are the charges and amount of restitution for those charged:

14 year olds: Class A misdeamenor -- $264.00/ person in restitution
Driver: 2nd degree felony and Class A misdeamenor for fleeing the scene of an accident -- Restitution will be roughly $2000.00

Anyway's just thought I would share with HAN. I hope that no one has to go through this. It is the worst.

that's good news! glad to hear they got caught - and doing something retarded at that. prolly tried to pull a fast n furious move.. how did they determine the restitution amounts? seems a little low to me.

hope they catch the driver soon!

Thanks. I never kept much in the Civic because I was alway's nervous that it would get stolen. All I claimed for restitution was my insurance deductable, cd's and rental car fee's. Other then that there wasn't anything in there. The insurance company took care of the car portion. I made a $3000 on the car. But I would still take the car over the $3000. The judge was the one who determined how much restitution each person is responsible for.

It really sucks that the car got stolen, but at least some justice has been served.

Michael Gallegos was the passenger. The one the stole the car was named Eric Extrez or Extrom or something like that.

I guess justice was served. Rather I wish we could envoke some old laws and punishment could be more severe then what these fools are getting. I feel that these guy's aren't getting there full punishment. Because those class A misdeamenor's are only slaps on the wrist from what I have been told. So how are they going to learn that stealing a car or even just riding in a stolen vehicle is wrong? :dunno:
