Cingular, Verizon, or T-mobile...
My AT&T contract ends soon. I am looking to either switch to Cingular orange, Verizon, or T-mobile. Which one would you guys pick?
Cingular
Pros:
- Motorola V3 $200
- Corporate discount of $10/month each for 4 lines (-$40)
- Rollover minutes
- GSM network
Cons:
- Low to no reception at home (1 out of 5 bars I live in the basement)
- Terrible customer service
Verizon
Pros:
- Average reception at home (3-4 out of 5 bars)
- Great customer service
Cons:
- Small selection of phones
- Non-GSM phones
- Expensive plans
T-Mobile
Pros:
- Excellent reception at home (5 out of 5 bars)
- Sidekick 2 (could see it as a negative as well i guess :P )
- Most minutes out of the 3
- GSM network
Cons:
- I was once a former customer unsatisfied with equipment discounts despite being a customer for 3 years.
- Small selection of phones
So far it looks to be like I'll be heading back to T-mobile

I was gonna say Cingular since you get the discount, but if you have little to no reception, then there's no point.
I guess you will be going to T-Mob. I think that you can bring in your own phone and just start a contract with them (without the purchase of a phone)if you don't like their selection of phones.

i had verizon for two years, great coverage, but the phones suck and i couldn't really get a better one for cheap.
nextel for a week, hated it, got rid of it.
went to t-mobile. i now have the palm treo 600. paid $100 even for it.
they'll do what they need to do to get more customers, plus you don't have to worry about signing two year contracts to get lower prices on the phones since t-mobile doesn't even offer them.

and they have the biggest customer base too. Calls within the Cingular base are free too.
Same goes with T-Mobile, but you have to pay an extra fee a month.
I'll plug Verizon.

I've never had so much as a billing error with these guys.
Call reception and network reliability have been stellar.
I'm not exactly happy with their range of phones, but as long my SE47 keeps going, it's not an issue.

:werd: I bought my contract with them a couple months ago and couldn't be happier with the service. Combine that with the fact that most of my friends and family are IN, I hardly even have to use my allotment (sp?) of daytime minutes.
verizon was the best phone service ive ever had....but i switched because im a superficial whore that wanted a cool phone so i got t-mobile
