Because theirs was built in 1923. It's last refurb was in the late 70's. As sad as I will be to see it go, it will be nice to watch them in a new stadium.
It will also be the most expensive privately funded stadium ever so I can't argue about taxes here.

As long as they aren't getting some municipality to pay for the new stadium I don't mind.
I feel like all too often it takes a long time for the municipality to get any return on its investment in a new stadium.
