its offical i am seeing this movie i have heard nothing but good about it

 

I saw it. It was solid.

The first two Batman movies directed by Tim Burton were cool but about as campy as reasonably acceptable.

The second two movies directed by Joel Schumacher were just too dopey.

This one was, if not necessarily more faithful to the comics (I don't really have much experience with them), at least more in line with what you might think a Batman movie could be like.

[SPOILER="about one of the bad guys"]One inconsistency with the earlier Batman movies, was that the thug who killed Bruce Wayne's parents did not turn into the Joker at some point later in time. Instead he was some random dude who ended up getting caught the night of the crime, and when in jail he ended up cellmates with this mobster, Carmine Falcone. Then he got paroled when he cut a deal to talk to the DA about Falcone. But as he walked out of the courthouse he got whacked. I'm not sure if this is how the comics did it and the original Batman movie just made the Joker also the guy who shot Bruce's parents, or if the original story was in fact that the Joker killed Bruce's parents and then got changed up at some point when they redid the legend with that series in the 80s that told the origin story again, or what.[/SPOILER]
