Default $5000 loan = me

So about all that new/used car talk before.

I was talking to my dad about getting another car for work/snow something with a/c and heat and that ran. And something i wouldn't mind getting dirty as fuck. aka a nice type beater.

My grandma said she would lend me $5000 no interest if i follow thru.

Id love a 4-runner, or a pick-up truck. But another 91 hatch or crx would also be nice, because i could fix all their problems.

So i'm thinking 5000-6000$ range.

Anyone got anything in mind for me?

hey now you know nobody ever just owns one Bug at a time h:

It all starts with one which becomes a project, so you need another to drive because you are hardcore Bug guy, then that becomes a project too, so you get another to drive becaus eyou are hardcore bug guy, then..........

I did that in a majorly bad way during my Bug daysh:

I went thru like 13 or 14 of them, Its seems owning more then one lead to getting side tracked and burnt out h:

Then one day I bought a VW GTi and sold all the bugs which at the time was a 1963 ragtop and a 1961 Ragtop and about a box van full of parts boy was my mom glad to see all that crap out of the side yard

If you want a car I would say stay with honda. You have a few options there.

If you want an SUV or truck I would get a 94-00 Jeep Cherokee w/ the 4.0L 6cyl. They'll run to 200K without problems if you keep up with reg maintenance. 4 Runners are nice but for 5-6K your looking at one with problems or 200K miles. Another thing to think about 4 runners have timing belts(change every 60K), jeeps have timing chains (never change). Not a problem if you change them yourself, but it gets costly paying someone else to change the TB every 60K.
