its nice to get customer compliments when working retail...
i really hate working in retail, but its nice when a customer takes the time to recognize your work.
my boss forwarded an email he got from a customer to me.
Dear Mr. Jackson,
This letter is a follow-up to our telephone conversation on Sunday, June 12th. As I said, I had occasion on Saturday, June 11th, to meet your employee, Brad, at the Best Buy store in Bel Air, Maryland. He assisted me with a cell phone/computer problem that I have been researching for about 10 months. Everyone I have dealt with in other computer and cell phone stores didn't seem to want to help me. They either didn't have what I needed or didn't know what I was talking about. Either way, they didn't stop to listen to my problem. Not only was Brad courteous and helpful, he stopped to listen to me and asked questions to try and figure out exactly what I needed. He didn't try to sell me something I didn't need and he wasn't bothered by my questions.
I am a 43 year-old woman who tends to shop online because, in general, sales people today are not interested in who they're serving, just what they're selling. In a time when customer service seems to be lacking in just about every area of sales, Brad has stepped up and shown me that there are still people who care about the service they give and the job they do. He is an asset to your company and an example to follow.
Once again, Thanks Brad! Keep up the good work.
feels good.

nice compliment. i wish more people in retail stores were actually helpful. most of the time i ask the employess anything, they respond "i dont know" or "ask that guy, he is in that dept" and when i get to "that guy" he dont know either. good for you

Yup there are some nice people in this world that will take time to make sure to compliment you
I think people always focus on the wrongs and never the goods. Pretty nice of her
Send her a thank you card.

So Brad, do you know why they call it a Royale with Cheese?
I know how you feel. I used to work tech support for Iomega (zip drive people) and I had a call one day and the guy had called 3-4 times, everybody else had given up and told him to hang up and download new drivers or replaced his drive even though that wasn't the problem. His version of win2000 was loading the wrong native driver (something other than the USB mass storage) when he pluged his drive in. I did some hunting and found a solution buried in the database and spent about an hour on the call and had him delete the existing driver files and extract the new one's from the windows .cab files but it still failed. Finally I had him extract the drivers from the win2000 CD .cab files rather than the existing I386 folder on the HD and that was the problem (the drivers on the machine and their compressed versions were corrupt, but the CD version was fine).
He was so happy to finally have the damn thing fixed that he wanted my supervisors email address to send his thanks along and the only one I had was my supervisors call center address (I worked for a company called Calltech, not actually Iomega although we did all of their support). About a week later everybody got a memo saying that any compliments or comments should be directect to phonesupport@iomega.com. I don't know if I'm the first person to get an email like that that made them realize they needed an address to send those to or not but it made me feel good.
