Another PC question
OK...I have to send the motherboard back....so what i did was just hooked it up to an old mother board i had...the processor is just going to run at a slower speed...I took the hard drive out of my old pc and since its xp i had to do a repair as many of you know. but now im at the windows xp professional upgrade screen...im basically doing a repair but its prompting me for this which is weird...but i cant find my cd key...is it possible for me to hook this back up to an old pc...where it was originally from boot it up and find the cd key...I have one key but its telling me its invalid when i know its valid..any help right now would be great...i guess its telling me the key is invalid cus its verifying it with the last one...i dont really wanna lose any data...but if i have to i will.
It should not matter since you are using the same hard drive with XP on the same one.
I don't do a repair on a windows machine to often, so I am not sure. It shouldnt matter if the MAC address or the MB changed, Windows shouldnt care.
