Default Napster question - iPod?

OK. I am willing to pay for Napster. $15 a month is a good price to pay to be able to download music legally. Unfortunately, I have an iPod, which was not listed as a compatible device with Napster.

Would I be able to download the music files and convert them into MP3 so I can transfer them into my iPod? The files are .wma format when downloaded from Napster.

I am sorry if this violates any rules. I wasn't sure if it did since it is a legit service and I will be paying for it :dunno:

Thanks for your help.

there are tools out there that convert wma to mp3, but i haven't tried any of them. my suggestion is to download a few and give them a try.

most of those look like you have to pay, but they're free to try, so you can at least see if it works.

Itunes converts .wma to .aac I believe, although I have had trouble converting some files.

itunes can convert .wma files, but not if they have drm which they probably do. the easiest thing i've found to do is to burn a cd using the files and then import it. of course, you'd want to use a cd-rw so you don't waste the cds. windows media player should let you burn wma files that have drm as long as you're the registered owner of the file.

Regular Napster.

And yeah, I was afraid that it would be protected so you can't convert them using iTunes.

Although the burning them off onto a CD might do the trick....I am just not sure.
