Default Now I Fully Understand Irony...

Well...about a month ago I had a truck recap from an 18-wheeler get slung onto my Integra causing about $1,800 worth of damage. Part of the damage (That I got money for from the insurance company) was for a new windshield...which I really didn't need one because there we just little tiny chips, nothing had went all of the way through and they were barely noticeable. Well the insurance company gave me money to replace it anyways. Well I used part of the money for the windshield and the money for my new hood and bought a Carbon Fiber Hood. All is good, until yesterday...I was on the way to the bowling alley for $0.25 games when all of the sudden, a rock flew and hit my windshield while doing 70 mph...fuck. Now I have to get it replaced, but I can't ask my insurance company for money to replace it b/c they already did a month ago. So now I have to get one and pay it out of my pocket. That's what I get for getting a CF hood, dammit.

I got a ViS OEM Style CF Hood for $480 (with Shipping included). The Insurance Company gave me money to get a Used OEM Hood, so I think I only had like $250 to get it replaced...so I spent an extra $130 for a CF hood, and that money could be used to get a new windshield.

well ... think about it.

If you replaced the windshield when you should have, you'd still have to replace a piece of glass only a few weeks old. I would have rather have gotten a new hood than swap out a part I just paid for.

or you could have saved the original $ for a rainy day, but nobody ever does that.

He never replaced the windshield in the first place, just had the money for it. But I do agree, if they're seperate claims as in the rock hit in a seperate place then they should cover it again.

Then again a brand new windshield may have taken the impact without cracking. One that had been comprimised wouldn't.

That is pretty messed up how that all happened. But don't spent too much time with what if. Remember the slightest things can have a huge affect on the outcome.

Hell, I would have chased down the truck Ace Ventura style and at the very least took down his plates.

Well I got to thinking about it...and even if I did have to file another claim for a new windshield under comprehensive...my deductible is $250 and that is about the cost of a new windshield, so it's really not worth it. I'll just have to pay for it out of pocket...which really isnt' a big deal.
