List of large cities with percentage of roads rated crappy
Kansas City 71%
San Jose 67%
St. Louis 66%
LA 64%
SF/Oakland 60%
San Diego 58%
New Orleans 55%
Boston 49%
Oklahoma City 47%
Interesting that California has 5 of the top 10, with as much dough they claim to spend on the roads. Gas taxes are high enough anyway. Texas has none in the top ten, and has lower gas taxes and no state income tax, hmmm

i agree with those california cities. despite the reliance on cars, lack of public transportation (and therefore government funding of public transportation), and a number of other factors, california has shitty roads and highways. both in LA and the bay area. LA is the worst i've ever driven, tho...

I was actually surprised Sacto was on there. The freeways are just inadequate, the surface streets are plain terrible, especially in midtown where they totally screwed them up by redirecting traffic away from where it was designed to go just because people bitched about living on a busy street after they bought a house on one.
