Rental for sure.

I have read many reviews of it and the general concensus is that although it is a good story it just isn't movie worthy.

I think it's going to be good. Angelo Dundee was in charge of making the fight scenes, so I'm just going to go to see Angelo's work.

didnt know dundee was the choreographer for the fights, I now shall watch it.

crowe should stop making these huge movies and just make a little fluff, it's getting too serious, thinking along the lines of kevin costner and waterworld (which i sorta enjoyed... but eh) he got lucky with gladiator and a beautiful mind. master and commander was too long and wasnt worth my ass getting sore sitting thru it. i have the feeling this will be the same way.

ahem, and to clarify on the genre itself, ALI gave me my fill of a long drawn out boxing movie/ biographical films for a while

I saw it this weekend and liked it. I think it was wasily worth it to see it in the theater.
