Read This. I need legal help. It sucks.
Tonight i finished putting on my 12.2 wilwood kit from good ol fastbrakes, and I went up to a local school to do a brake check. I wanted to make sure i was in a place, at night, where there would be nobody. I live in a rural area so its desolate. I do some stops, everything is going well, nothing out of the ordinary. So the pig shows up and shines his light in my face for an hour. Gives me a wreckless driving ticket because he says, i was reported speeding. This is stupid because the area where you can stop only allows max thirty mph speeds. So i tell him that i was just trying to do the safest thing possible when testing unused brakes installed by competent but not experienced mechanics. I then ask him what i should have done to test my brakes. He replies with "Oh you should just drive around town at the speed limits and make sure the brakes work at stop signs." How could i know that that was the safer option when testing unused brakes. I just think that its ironic that on a saturday night when there are drunk people out there on the roads and i am being given a wreckless driving ticket for being as safe as i could possibly be. I am thinking about just going in and possibly speaking with the district judge about the officer's judgement in this situation. The excitement of getting new brakes/clutch/tune-up/billet shifter/lower tie bars was severely dampened by this bs. Thanks for listening, comments welcome
was it cuz you were stopping alot? ne ways, i would talk to a lawyer or just take it to court myself. that to me seems the best option granted you were not doing any crazy stuff while testing the brakes.
If you go to court you should have No problem. Unless you get one of those cranky old white women Judge. (Don't mean to offend anyone) Not a racial comment. But yeah most cops are asshole just showing there ass because they have that power. Goodluck man.
Moved to The Basement.

in private parking lots, you essentially have immunity unless the owner files a complaint (at which point you'd probably get tresspassing) but someplace like a school (funded by tax dollars) you can get tickets.
if you live in a rural area, couldnt you just find a quiet back road someplace to test your brakes?
go to court, plead n/g and you will have it reduced. maybe something like speed not reasonable/prudent. wreckless is a misdemeanor violation (at least here in NY) so you dont wanna f with it too much but chances are when you go to ct and talk to the DA, they will offer you a reduction unless you have a history of f'in around and getting dumb tickets.
