Shaq was traded because his weight was balooning out of control in LA up to 360 when he left, wanted an extention with the lakers in the area of 30+ Million a year despite the fact that he continuously missed games with Injuries.

It Was not worth the investment at the time.


Granted he has slimmed down in Miami to a lean 320 h: but he still missed lots of games
