Default Life changing experience?

I occasionally see or hear about how people say they can name a situation or single moment in their life that completely changed their life. Like, seeing something happen, or seeing a concert, or hearing a lecture, or seeing a show...something that made you completely change your outlook or focus of your life and what you wanted to do with your life.

I can't say anything like that has ever happened to me, but I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this.

when my first gf dumped me was a pretty damn life-changing experience.

I actually just last weekend saw this movie called "the parrots of telegraph hill" or something like that. There was this monologue in that movie where he describes what a zen master said about water upon seeing a waterfall at yosemite, and it litterally moved me to tears. I think that movie changed my spritual outlook.

The closest I have was getting my letter of acceptance from PSU. Besides the fact it changed my life because I was doing something new, I learned that things will work out for the best if I try and I became sure about the future.

I'd also have to agree that my first g/f dumping me was big for me. Which is kind of strange, since I've watched people die and it didn't really have an effect on me. It's also kind of sad, since really in the end most first relationships don't work out, and it really shouldn't be such a big deal.

Buying my car, my first real commitment that I chose.
Best off the top of my head. :dunno:

I dunno, I don't think buying your first car...its more significant than that...changes how you see the world. Like...something you saw when you were younger that made you want to grow up to follow that path...or like what Mandi is talking about. Something that made you decide to live your life differently or changed how you see the world.

I'd have to say the birth of my two children. That was rather life-changing.
